Are Medical Debts Forgiven After Seven Years?

March 1st, 2010 by Leave a reply »

Somebody told me that medical debts are are forgiven and written off after seven years if no judgment has been made against the debtor and no payment arrangements have been made. I couldn’t find any information on the internet or at my library proving this unequivocally. Does anybody know if this is true?

They’re not “forgiven”. However; I don’t think they can list them on your credit report any longer than 7 years.
