Is it worth buying now a second racket or is it better to wait for the new line to come out next year?
For example
if Prince or Wilson or Babolat launch new rackets in 2010, will they reduce their old rackets by lets say 40%?
so a racket what cost now €150 will cost €90?
(Currently I have 1 racket; but I want to consider to buy a 2nd racket as reserve, however competition will not begin until next year…)

1Depends on the brands, I don’t think Prince, Wilson, or Babolat give any discount on previous models. But on lesser know brands like Dunlop, you can get close to 50% discount. You may get 50% discount on the soon be discontinue models of most brands.

2The big name companies are not going to drop their prices by much. Look at the new Pure Drive models, they reduced the old model’s price by $10. Wilson is probably going to discontinue most of their rackets, and the prices of the ones that aren’t going to be lowered anytime soon. So don’t count on getting cheap rackets in 2010.

3I’d say 50 to 60% discount, I’ve seen $200+ raquets going down to $99 -120 after the new version is introduced
